NZ Golf Guidelines

Alert Level 3 – Access to Golf Course

Not all golf courses will be able to open under Alert Level 3 restrictions, but we’re pleased to announce St Clair Golf Club will be - with restrictions. Over the weekend we are expecting to receive more guidelines and we will provide more up to date information on what we can provide from Tuesday.

What we do know:-

Golf can be played at Alert Level 3 so long as it does not involve interacting with other people outside of your bubble. Therefore, play is only possible for those playing alone or playing with others from within your bubble. DO NOT arrange to meet anyone else to play.

NZ Golf announced that at Level 3 golf can be played under strict rules, this will involve contact tracing. Members will need to be able to use the online tee booking system themselves to book their tee time. We DO NOT want several people turning up at the same time, hanging around the first tee waiting to tee off. If you have not got this technology yet and plan to play in alert Level 3, please register for online tee books this week. NO ONE will be allowed to go on the course without an online tee booking. Visit www.golf.co.nz and register as a NZ Golf member with your 379---- member ID and email address.

You are now able to download the following Apps either via the NZ Apple Store or Google Play Store depending on your phone.

NZGolf.co.nz App which provides you with your Overall Handicap System & DotGolf.co.nz which gives you the ability to book online.

Check-in also available in the DotGolf app.
Search for "DotGolf". Available for Apple and Android.

How will this work? Check-In Within the DotGolf App, users will be able to check-in and indicate the purpose for their visit to the golf club (playing golf or just visiting the club facilities). The user will be prompted to enter some basic details, pre-populated for members, empty for guests. the DotGolf App will indicate a “Checked In” status which can be displayed as requested by a staff member, throughout the visit at the golf club.

Rules (Under Level 3)

1. Golfers must arrive ready to play and leave the facility immediately after play.

2. At risk players (such as those over 70) may need to take extra measures to protect themselves. The Ministry of Health are developing further guidelines for at risk groups.

3. All clubhouse, pro shop, changing room, toilets and any other facility at the golf course must be closed to players and visitors (only available to be accessed and used by essential staff on site).

4. Scorecards cannot be physically issued prior to play nor returned after play. No scores will be accepted by the NZG handicapping system at Alert Level 3.

5. Players must maintain a minimum distance of at least two metres between themselves and other players on course who are not in their bubble

6. Equipment cannot be shared.

7. Golf carts will be available with restrictions. Carts are to be used only by people inside the same bubble. With no access to buildings (including those that are stored at the club) all carts must be pre-booked and arranged to be available at least one day in advance. 8. All Practice Areas are off limits until we reach Alert Level 2. This includes Practice driving range and putting area.

NO Access Clubhouse/Lockers

The Clubhouse is strictly out of bounds. For those that still have golf clubs in their lockers we will organise for you to get these out in a manner that is safe for everyone. If you wish to collect your clubs can you please make contact with Patrick – email pro@stclairgolf.co.nz or phone 027 630-9887 and this will be organised by arrangement.

Overview:

If you want to play golf at St Clair you must register online or text/phone Patrick on 027 630 9887, play within your bubble, turn up ready to play and no mingling around before or after. All practise facilities will be closed during level 3. Golf Carts will be available but only if pre-booked and arranged with Patrick.
